New Business
Environmental News
Tom and Linda announced there will be a bus leaving from the FCCOL on Sunday
September 21, for the climate march in New York City. Space is available for anyone
who is interested.
Linda reported that the FCCOL is scheduled to have a photovoltaic system installed. It
will supply seventy-five percent of the electricity needs of the fellowship hall.
Ongoing Business
Outreach
The Buzz Away towelettes were made available to residents at the town
hall with information on mosquitoes. This was the second year the
commission has put together this display and every towelette was taken.
Rogers Lake
Sonia Marino, the town sanitarian, was scheduled to attend, but was unable to due to
illness. We hope to have her attend the November meeting.
George briefed the members of the Roger’s Lake Authority Commission (RLA)
who were in attendance, as to the role of the Conservation Commission regarding the
lake. The primary concern is for the health of the watershed. George is working with
Jane Cable and the town sanitarian on the watershed proposal.
Members from both commissions discussed ways in which they could collaborate. A
spring mailer and its contents were agreed on. Maureen will work on the rough
draft. The RLA will provide photos and take part in the editing.
The meeting adjourned at 9:18 pm.
Lauralyn Lewis, Secretary
